| Our orange cat, Stanley (as seen in the picture with Allen), met with a fatal accident yesterday evening. He was a good kitty (except for urinating everything). Everyone loved him. Hopefully now he is in a place where the birds fly low and not very fast.
Note to owners of 1998 Mercury Grand Marquis': The hood of the car does not always stay up. It can come crashing down at any time. Such an incident cost me my cute kitty. It could have hurt someone more valuable, like my kids.

| So, I had my sonogram today. We looked from all angles and the professional person said it was a girl. Hurray!!! There are no girls on my husband's side of the family, just lots of boys. Bob and I are super happy. Okay, now for names... we are thinking Emily or Elizabeth for a first name. I like the meanings of both names. Perhaps Belle or Rose for a middle name. Well, I still have 20 weeks to think about it.

| I saw my baby today. Its little heart was beating just fine. My doctor is giving me the option of doing a VBAC (vaginal birth after cesarean). We'll see how things are going as I get closer, but I'd like to try. C-section recovery was not fun. Next appointment is in March. Yes, my latest "project" is to watch every episode of Voyager and Enterprise. Once this is completed, I will have seen every Star Trek post-Kirk episode in existence. I'm not really fond of the original show. | | |
| #2 is on its way. Just found out yesterday. I am trying to get my OB nurse to call me back so I can make that first appointment. It's fun because they do an ultrasound of the baby. They look like a bean with stubs for arms. Won't know for several months what kind of baby it is. I can't wait to find out. People always ask if you are going to find out what kind of baby it is. This makes no sense to me. I can know, but I choose not to know. Being an insanely curious person, I can't figure that one out. | | |
| Sorry to the few people that have been reading my blog. I haven't been able to update it in a while due to my sudden enrollment in police academy. Now I have been at it for 8 weeks, almost halfway through. I am in much better shape and no longer feel like the potato of my previous entry. While I still like aerobics, the physical training I am receiving right now is much more intense. My formally pregnant tummy is shrinking, and I can do pullups with the assistance of a gigantic rubber band. So anyways, it has been an incredible challenge that I would never have dreamed that I would be doing. I thought I wouldn't make it past the first week, and yet here I am. I even made it past fighting the huge guys in pads, a most terrifying experience. Hopefully I will graduate on December 8th and then get commissioned by the sheriff's office. Perhaps, after this, my life will be less complicated.
